Thanks Folks!

We want to just say a quick thanks to those of you who have already made donations for Taborok's richshaw. We were able to go ahead a get a mobile phone for him today and he was so excited. We also know now that his son goes to a school in Comilla, a nearby town where school is cheaper, and this will mean he can talk to his son every now and then too. He only gets to see him a few times a year, but he works hard to allow his son to go to school. That's pretty impressive for a rickshaw wallah and testament to his responsibility. He's working hard to make the future better for his kids, and with your help, he's more able to do it.

Tomorrow we are going at 10:00 to buy a rickshaw. We are all very excited! In addition to the great feeling that comes from helping a great guy, the experience of buying a rickshaw will be fun too! They are custom painted too, so we'll get to give some input into the decorations- fun! Hopefully we'll be able to take lots of photos and we'll post them on here with a report tomorrow night.

Also, this morning Taborok brought some lungis for Jon and Atticus. The lungi is the traditional bottoms/skirt for men in South Asia and a few other areas (here is a link to wikipedia for more info - gasp wikipedia!, I know I know, but it really is an easy source of info and you know you all use it anyway! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lungi) We had told Taborok that Atticus wanted a lungi and he said that he knew if he went to buy it for us it would be cheaper than if we went as bideshis. (He has access to cheaper markets and despite any amount of bargaining prowess we've developed- he is undoubtedly better by about ten millions times). So last night after work he went and got lungis for Jon and Atticus (and they were much cheaper than we could've gotten them for!). So here's a picture of Jon and Atticus in their lungis. (The lungi Jon has on is not actually the one Taborok bought, because it needs to be stitched - it is one Sam got last summer. Atticus' is the one from Taborok though and we'll get some pics later of Jon is his new one!
